LIG Nex1 signs an MOU with Anduril on ‘Cooperative Development of Future Warfare Weapons Systems’ 2025.04.02

● Collaborating to advance capabilities in guided munitions and manned and unmanned AI solutions.
● Promoting technology collaboration and global market development, and leading the development of Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T).

LIG Nex1 and Anduril Industries, a U.S.-based AI defense technology company, have joined forces to enhance their capabilities in developing next-generation weapons systems and core solutions specialized for future warfare, including guided weapons, manned and unmanned teaming, and operational systems.

LIG Nex1 signed a comprehensive MOU with Anduril for the ‘Cooperative Development of Future Warfare Weapons Systems’ at its Seoul office on the 2nd. The ceremony was attended by LIG Nex1 CEO/President Shin Ik-hyun, Anduril Co-Founder and CEO Brian Schimpf, and key officials from both companies.

Through this MOU, the two companies will advance guided munitions, unmanned submarines and Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T), and technological collaboration and global market development centered around AI-based operating systems. In addition, the cooperation will assess the integration of LIG Nex1's mission equipment, such as sensors, on Anduril's unmanned system platforms.
Anduril's AI-based operating system, ‘Lattice,’ will be applied to LIG Nex1's weapons systems to significantly enhance autonomous mission capabilities.

Along with MUM-T, weapons systems based on superintelligence, hyper-connectivity, and hyper-convergence are rapidly becoming more advanced and sophisticated, so the development of operational solutions and platform integration capabilities to support them is emerging as an important challenge for the defense sector.

LIG Nex1 plans to lead the R&D of future weapons systems optimized for the evolving battlefield by combining Anduril's proven AI solutions with LIG Nex1's technology in the sectors of unmanned systems, guided weapons, and surveillance and reconnaissance, including the maritime unmanned platform called the ‘Unmanned Surface Vehicle (Sea Sword)’ series.
