LIG Nex1 participates in SITDEF 2025, Peru 2025.04.24


LIG Nex1 introduced its comprehensive maritime security solution at the Peru International Defense Exhibition (SITDEF 2025). SITDEF 2025 took place from April 24 to 27 at the Army Headquarters in Lima, Peru. SITDEF is the largest biennial defense exhibition in Latin America. This year commemorated the exhibition’s 10th anniversary, and Korean defense companies, including LIG Nex1, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Rotem, Korea Aerospace Industries, along with 250 companies from 40 countries, participated in the exhibition.

In an exhibition hall jointly organized with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, LIG Nex1 introduced its radar and defense weapons systems, including the Multi-Function Radar (MFR), which can be mounted on warships of more than 3,000 tons; electronic warfare and combat systems; the ship-mounted Close-in Weapons System (CIWS-II); along with guided weapons systems such as the SAAM (Surface-to-Air Anti-Missile) and Poniard. LIG Nex1 also introduced combat systems for submarines and underwater strike systems such as the Red Shark and Tiger Shark.

At the seminar organized to promote HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ submarines for export, LIG Nex1 introduced its key systems and solutions that will be equipped on the submarine proposed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to Peru.
The seminar was attended by Peruvian government officials, including the Minister of Defense and the Chief of Naval Staff, as well as key defense officials from both countries, including the Chief of Policy of the ROK Navy Headquarters and the Director General of the Maneuver Program Department of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA). LIG Nex1 plans to expand its business in Latin America by focusing on the major warship and submarine systems and maritime solutions introduced at the exhibition.
