LIG Nex1 seeks technology cooperation on RAM Block-Ⅱ with Raytheon 2025.05.28

LIG Nex1 (CEO: Shin Ick-hyun) joins hands with Raytheon to cooperate on the RAM Block-II, a self-defense anti-ship guided missile.
The RAM, or rolling airframe missile, is a short-range ship-to-air guided missile developed by Raytheon to ensure ship survivability against threats from enemy anti-ship missiles.

The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the RAM Block-II program with Raytheon at the International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX) 2025 at BEXCO, Busan, on May 28.
Park Tae-sik, Head of LIG Nex1’s Missile System Business Division, and Mike Min, Vice President of Raytheon’s Indo-Pacific Business Development, took part in the signing.

LIG Nex1 plans to proceed with the technical cooperation production of the RAM Block-II based on its successful cooperation on the RAM Block-I’s production with Raytheon,
the original manufacturer of the RAM, from 2008 to 2016, as well as its experience and technical expertise garnered through mutual collaboration.
The companies will discuss specific ideas to expand the localization of the missile’s components.
LIG Nex1 noted, “The MOU will provide great momentum to secure advanced foreign technologies and broaden export markets, including the U.S., through the localization of components.”
