Finnish Deputy Defense Minister and Delegation Visit LIG Nex1 to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Defense Industry Cooperation 2025.09.08

· Finnish Deputy Defense Minister visits LIG Nex1, third visit by Finnish ministerial-level officials
· Discussed strategic defense industry cooperation between the two countries... Expected to serve as an opportunity to expand Korea-Finland international cooperation

LIG Nex1 (CEO Shin Ick-hyun) announced that Finnish Deputy Defense Minister Esa Pulkkinen, Finnish Ambassador to South Korea Jyri Jarviaho, and key Finnish military officials,
who are visiting South Korea to attend the Seoul Security Dialogue on Monday, September 8, visited Pangyo House.

This visit marks the third time that Finnish ministerial and deputy ministerial-level officials have visited LIG Nex1's facilities,
following visits by Timo Harakka, Finnish Minister of Transport and Communications, in 2023, and Antti Hakkanen, Finnish Minister of Defense, in 2024.

At the event, LIG Nex1 and Finnish officials agreed that strategic international cooperation is more crucial than ever for innovation in defense technologies, including dual-use technologies.
LIG Nex1 plans to use this visit as an opportunity to expand mutual exchanges with Finland's innovative tech companies,
not only in the defense industry, but also across a wide range of advanced technology fields.

Moreover, the two countries share significant similarities in geopolitical positioning and economic structures, which may create strong synergy not only in defense and security,
but also in technological development and the broader industrial ecosystem.

Park Jong-sung, Head of the Future Strategy Division at LIG Nex1, stated,
“We hope this event will serve as an opportunity to expand technological cooperation with local companies by building on the shared similarities and strengths between Korea and Finland.”
