LIG Nex1 takes part in activities to control harmful non-native fish in cooperation with the city of Seongnam

LIG Nex1 (CEO: Shin Ick-hyun) participated in environmental cleanup activities for restoration of the ecosystem along with key local institutions and companies including the Seongnam City Government (Mayor: Shin Sang-jin). The company’s employees voluntarily joined in the collection of invasive species using skimming nets and casting nets in and around Bundang Lake in Bundang Central Park, which was organized by the city government on November 4.
The volunteer event was even more meaningful because it was carried out as part of LIG Nex1’s ESG efforts aimed at ‘building a sustainable ecological environment’ along with the local community.
An official from LIG Nex1 said, “Social responsibility of businesses starts with consistent practices rather than one-off events. We will continue our ESG efforts for the protection of the local ecosystem in the future.” LIG Nex1 signed a business agreement contract of mutual cooperation for environmental protection with the city of Seongnam last September and expressed its intention to actively engage in various environmental protection and biodiversity promotion programs that the city implements.
