During the period of the Defense & Security (D&S) 2025 exhibition held in Thailand, LIG Nex1 (CEO: Shin Ick-hyun) paid a visit to the Thai-Korean War Veterans Association to express gratitude in honor of the sacrifice and bravery of the veterans who fought in the Korean War.
Chairman Koo Bon-sang of LIG and executives of LIG Nex1 visiting Thailand to participate in D&S 2025, a global defense exhibition, met Thai veterans of the Korean War and presented souvenirs to pay tribute to the noble sacrifice of those who fought for Korea’s freedom and peace.
The Royal Thai Army dispatched 6,326 soldiers to the Korean War and suffered a great loss, with 136 of them dying and about 1,200 getting wounded. In November last year, Rod Asanapan, a Korean War veteran of the Thai Medical Corps, became the first Thai veteran buried in the UN Memorial Cemetery in Busan.

LIG Nex1 is carrying out diversified activities for the Korean War veterans by, for example, inviting veterans from the U.S., Colombia, France, and the U.K. to Korea and supporting the UN Memorial Cemetery in Korea. The company pledges continued support for veterans from different countries and their families in the future.
An official from LIG Nex1 said, “We owe the freedom and prosperity that we enjoy today to the dedication and sacrifice of veterans of the Korean War. We will continue our efforts to remember and honor those who devoted themselves to the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea.”
