  • Active Electronically Scanned Array
    AESA
  • Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar for aircraft to be mounted on Korean future fighters that can detect, identify and track more targets than the existing mechanical radar. The project is underway to develop core technologies for developing aircraft radar suitable for electronic warfare.

  • Air Force Long-Range Surveillance Radar

  • Air Force Long-Range Surveillance Radar is currently being developed in the R&D project to replace FPS-117, the existing long-range surveillance radar operated by the Air Force. Its detection distance is 400km, capable of monitoring enemy aircraft, long-range missiles and other tactical/strategic weapons approaching the Korean peninsula. As it can also monitor North Korea’s territorial air, it can immediately find out when enemy missiles or combat planes are launched.

  • Medium-Range Air Defense Radar

  • Medium-Range Air Defense Radar is a 3D surveillance radar with improved early warning capability against low-altitude targets as well as command and control connection capability. It is operated around the clock for forward area airborne surveillance and intensive surveillance for low-altitude targets and provides real-time trajectory data in conjunction with MCRC (Master Control and Report Center).

  • 3D Surveillance Radar for FFX

  • 3D Surveillance Radar for FFX is a 3D medium-range multi-beam surveillance radar mounted on Ulsan-I class ships capable of collecting information such as distance, bearings, and altitude of mid-range anti-ship/anti aircraft threats in Korea's cluttered marine environment and amid the threat of electronic warfare. As it can detect targets up to 250km away, it is expected to play a pivotal role in guarding our territorial waters.

    3D Radar
  • 3D Surveillance Radar for PKG (Patrol Killer Guided Missile) is a 3D phased array radar developed by Korean domestic technologies. Mounted on patrol killer guided missile ships, the radar is capable of collecting information such as distance, bearings, and altitude of mid-range anti-ship/anti-aircraft threats in Korea’s cluttered marine environment and amid the threat of electronic warfare.

  • Precision Approach Radar
    PAR
  • Precision Approach Radar PAR uses traffic information captured by an air traffic controller in the final approach phase of aircraft to the airport at the request of a pilot under severe weather conditions or when the aircraft is malfunctioning and guides the aircraft along the Glide-Path toward the touch point for a safe landing.

  • Local Air Defense Radar
    AESA
  • Local Air Defense Radar is 3D radar developed to detect the altitude of flight vehicles to boost the capability to respond to North Korea’s low-altitude aerial attack and penetration threats, which is a significant improvement compared with the existing 2D radar detecting only the distance and direction of aircraft.
